Senior Underwriter - Financial Lines (Full time and Part time)

Aviva are now looking for a Senior Liability Underwriter to join their SME Commercial Lines Underwriting team. The Senior Liability Underwriter will be responsible for driving profitable growth in Liability Classes within Mid-Market, Digital Products and Schemes - GWP in excess of £300M. Developing and implementing the Liability underwriting, pricing and quality strategy. Representing Liability with key internal stakeholders including technical underwriting, claims, risk & governance, actuarial and business leaders. Ensuring the achievement of planned outcomes, performance levels and targets in year and over the longer-term planning cycle. Key responsibilities within the role include: Creating an environment to outperform plan with great MI, context and tools to deliver maximum benefit from the strategy and outperformance against peers in the market Underwriting the largest or most complex business and building confidence in others to do the same Portfolio management and optimisation to provide rationale and insights on performance of the Liability Account to deliver planned profit & volume over both short and long term Review technical, legal issues & developments and produce proposals to reduce risk and/or exploit opportunities and/or reduce blockages Provide strategic direction for the new and emerging risks and opportunities in pricing, risk selection and management of risk Review Claims developments and provide insight for account performance and projections Building effective working relationships with key stakeholders within, CTU, Actuarial, Claims, Finance, legal and sales in addition to the commercial leadership teams We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience: ACII or equivalent qualification A track record of Liability underwriting experience at senior level Capability of coaching and developing others Strong embedded broker and customer relationships - Developing strategic contacts and relationships in a complex environment Driving underwriting strategies into the business Knowledge of insurance regulation, agency and compliance What will you get for this role?
