The Cayman Islands Health Services Authority, is the principal healthcare service provider in the Cayman Islands, offering the most comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient, and public health services through a 124-bed hospital and four District Health Centres on Grand Cayman, an 18-bed hospital in Cayman Brac and a satellite outpatient clinic in Little Cayman.



We invite applications for the following position:



PODIATRIST



Specialist Salary : USD$158,195 to USD$190,300 per annum



Non-Specialist Salary: USD$126,738 to USD$152,457 per annum



The Podiatrist facilitates the diagnosis and treatment of injuries and illnesses relating to the feet, ankle, and lower legs. Postholder works closely with and supports Orthopaedics, Pain Management, and Physiotherapy departments. Manages an average of 10-15 patients per day.



Primary Responsibilities: The successful applicant is responsible for assessing patients medical conditions associated with patient's leg, ankle and feet in order to diagnose illnesses or injury. Postholder treats deformities and ailments with techniques such as casting or laser therapy. Also conducts foot and ankle surgeries and prescribes orthotics and medications as necessary.





  • Specialist Qualification & Experience: The successful applicant must have a four (4) year Doctorate degree in Podiatric Medicine (DPM) and three (3) years specialised Fellowship training (i.e., FCPodS). A minimum of three (3) years post graduate experience required either in a clinic or hospital setting.





  • Non-Specialist Qualification & Experience: Those with a DPM who can prove they have at least three (3) years post graduate experience but do not have Fellowship training.



The successful applicant must have in-depth knowledge of modern surgical and therapeutic treatments. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required along with a high level of patience and empathy. The ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team is essential.



CAYMAN ISLANDS LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:



All applicants must be eligible to obtain specialist registration with the Health Practice Commission in order to practice in the Cayman Islands. Must be registered in one of these jurisdictions to be eligible; Jamaica, USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and/or Australia.



COMPENSATION PACKAGE:



Remuneration is based on a salary range of USD$158,195 to USD$190,300 per annum



Additional on call allowance is provided depending on specialty



(Note there are no direct taxes in the Cayman Islands)



In addition to base salary, we provide full healthcare coverage at no cost to employees, pensions plan, paid holidays, 25 days annual leave, malpractice coverage, air passage along with freight allowance to the Cayman Islands.
