    Job Description

    The World Health Organization seeks a skilled Public Health Specialist to join its team. This role is crucial in supporting the development and implementation of sustainable, multi-sectoral strategies for improving health systems and capacity building in communicable and non-communicable disease control.

    Responsibilities

    - Collaborate with senior public health officers and country office heads to facilitate efficient management and coordination of expertise.
    - Provide technical advice on the development of national strategies, policies, interventions, and plans for improving health systems and capacity building in communicable and non-communicable disease control.
    - Coordinate the adoption of norms, standards, guidelines, and tools to support the implementation of disease control projects.
    - Manage operational aspects of related research, surveillance, epidemiology, and health surveys.
    - Facilitate project implementation for disease control, including setting priorities, monitoring progress, and evaluating workplans and budgets.

    Requirements

    - A university degree in a relevant field (public health, epidemiology, medicine, or statistics).
    - At least five years of experience in disease investigation, surveillance, and control, as well as developing strategies and action plans for implementing capacity building and disease prevention programs.

    Skills

    - Technical knowledge of communicable and non-communicable diseases diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
    - Experience with data analysis and interpretation, and ability to communicate findings effectively.
    - Strong analytical and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build partnerships and collaborate with stakeholders at various levels.
